About Victors Real & Ready
Real & Ready meals are designed by Victors chefs, freshly prepared from scratch, contain healthy real food ingredients and are completely ready to eat.
This is possible by the partnership between the two local businesses, SC Real Foods and Victors Restaurant.
We know you want to eat well but that sometimes you're unable to prepare fresh food. We're delighted to be able to provide meals, salads, sandwiches and snacks that are at least as good (or maybe better?) than you would cook for yourself at home.
Yes, there are lots of local food options for prepared foods. However, Victors Real & Ready is very different. Not only do we NOT use any mixes or pre-prepared foods (which most always contain chemicals and preservatives), we use "real food" ingredients and cook everything from scratch.
This makes our food AMAZING tasting and very nutritious at the same time. Other clean eating places around town just cannot compare to the quality of our food.
Real food ingredients are as unprocessed as possible and contain no chemicals or preservatives. So, basically, just simple plain food ingredients.
Our meats are all at minimum, antibiotic free (ABF), wild caught (for seafood) and uncured with no nitrites. We use Real® salt which contains an array of minerals. And more! Here are the details about our real food ingredients.
God designed food to make you strong and healthy, not sick. If your food is making you sick, then there's something wrong with your food. When you eat food that's as unprocessed as possible and raised or grown as close to the way it was created to be, your food can increase your health and well being instead of be the cause of disease.
ABF is a commonly used abbreviation for Antibiotic Free.
We want you to have access to healthy and delicious food. We've done all that we can to make it affordable. Many meals that feed one person cost between $5 and $10. That's about the same as you'll spend at a fast food restaurant!
Unlike restaurants whose menu seldom changes, we keep our food choices fresh and exciting by offering new items weekly. Items that are popular may be repeated or rotated.
This means that you can enjoy several different meals each week, every week.
YES! Of course you can always just pop open the container and dive in, but we've figured out a few interesting ways that you can use our meals.
- Order a salad and add more of your own favorite toppings
- Stretch the salad and make it into a side for more people by adding more of your own greens.
- Use one of our sides to add to your own home-cooked entree (vegetables or carbs).
- For feeding more people, buy a few trays, disassemble them, and reassemble in larger dishes for reheating in the oven. Add your own sauces or cheese to make it look homemade.
Example: Roasted veggies can be added to your own omelettes, fajitas, quesadillas, soups & casseroles. They are amazingly versatile!
Heating & Storage
We haven't tested the quality of our prepared foods once they're frozen and reheated. However, they are probably best kept in your refrigerator and eaten before the "use by" date.
We hope that since we update our menu choices weekly, you'll want to come select items weekly so that you don't need to freeze any but instead always have fresh food in your fridge to eat.
Our sandwiches and salads are good for at least 3 days. Our meals are good for at least 6 days in your refrigerator. Please see the "use by" date on each container. This is the same as any leftover that you would prepare at home.
Your food comes in a microwave safe/dishwasher safe container, but you don't have to use that. You can move your food to an oven-safe container.
Depending on the food, you may even prefer to heat it in a skillet.
You can always toss your food into the microwave and hit the on button.
But we've discovered that many times the finer meats that we use get overdone and tough long before the rest of the dish gets warm.
You can solve this two ways...
- Heat your food on 50%- 80% power instead of 100%. Many times, this will allow more even heating of your food.
- Remove the meat; heat the rest of the dish. When the overall dish is just warm, put the meat back in and continue warming until desired temperature.
Dietary Needs & Preferences
Please read the ingredients lists carefully before ordering. If you have any questions, please ask.
If you're allergic to any kind of ingredient, please let us know. There is a place in the online checkout to tell us. This helps the chefs prevent cross contamination during food preparation.
Also, the chefs may very occasionally make substitutions when one ingredient is not available. Help us help you by letting us know very clearly what you need to avoid.
We expect for you to be able to do that soon. However, right now as we are just getting going with our preorder process, we are not able to make exceptions. We're very sorry for that.
We are trying hard to provide a variety of foods with and without ingredients that we know some people don't care for or just can't eat.
We have many items whose ingredients don't contain any gluten. However, we are not a certified gluten free kitchen and even though the ingredients we use may not contain gluten, they may not be certified gluten free.
For these reasons, if you are avoiding gluten for minor problems, you should be fine.
However, if you have celiac disease or react to small amount of gluten, please use caution.
